“Hey you’re invited to my sour cream party!!”

“Wait, WHAT?”

That was the general response when I invited people over my house for my sour cream party. And I can’t say I blame them as it isn’t exactly something that you get invited to on the regular. Luckily for me, I have an amazing network of friends and family who support any and all of my crazy/creative endeavors, whatever they may be!!

I signed up for the party hosting site, www.houseparty.com, and was chosen as a host for the Breakstone’s Sour Cream party.  This was my first party for the site and all I can say was that it was FUN. It is no secret that I love to entertain and that I love getting people together, especially in the middle of the week for fun they may not otherwise be even having.  So all of the people who were unsure of what they were getting themselves into had a BLAST. There was the party pack that House Party sent to get the party rolling, which included a ton of freebies for everyone, and the emails that generate as the party date gets closer that are FULL of ideas. This was a great time. Guys and girls enjoyed themselves, there was lots of laughter and LOTS of eating.  Good. Fun.

The Breakstone Flavors that we tried were: Jalapeno, Garlic and Herb sour creams and then for the dips we tried French Onion, Buffalo, and Ranch. Chipotle and Southwest Style were not available in my area.  Hands down, the Jalapeno was the party favorite and the massive amount of potato skins that Mike made (hand scooped and all!) were DEVOURED. So good. As far as the dips go, good ole French Onion was the fave. There wasn’t a bit left at the end of the night.

I am so glad that I was able to host this party and I’m so glad that people actually came AND that they had a good time. And besides, who doesn’t love a party where your only requirements are to eat, drink, and show up!? No pushy candle sales here!

I’m totally looking forward to hosting my next event for www.houseparty.com

The past two weeks have been a blur. I can’t see the lines under the days in my planner becuase they are so crammed with shit. My life has been work, fun, friends, family, and house stuff. Non stop. I’m almost positive I will get sick.  It’s bound to happen. Everything has been, to lift a term used by my pal HP, “wild”, lately. Not bad, just WILD. I don’t mean wild like barfing in sinks, hanging from trees doing keg stands, or late night trips to Vegas wild, just wild as in INTENSE.  Dreams are sharp, the days are a manic blur, and people, myself included are stretched thin.  I think it was Memorial day. The kick off to SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER. Planners fill up, the sun blares down, and drinks are icy cold saviors at the end of a harrowing day or night.  No need to discuss how it went from spring showers every day here in Cleveland, to BURNING desert. I love it. The heat makes you weird. Good weird.

Finishing up school. Weekday visits. Making Mike dinner and SHOCKING him. 80 degrees. Hard boiled eggs.  Chatting.  Feeling inspired. Waking up early and feeling like I’m stealing an hour away from the day. The soon to be finished patio. Planning Memorial Day weekend. Exciting things. Friends that get it. Helpful people. Not wasting energy on negative people.  My new giant fern. Feeding my backyard birds. Crushes.  Talking sports. Cleaning out clothes. Planning the backyard. Daisies. Shopping.  New tank tops for 3 dollars. Finishing books. The Beats. Writing down books to read. Writing down people of the past to research.  Mail. Finding out fresh news.  Changing up my hair. Being dreamy, yet motivated. Oldies. Staring at my ring.  Working to not be wasteful. Being caught up with laundry. Being followed around by my animals.

SPRING IS HERE. FINALLY. And with spring, comes flowers, sun, and all sorts of pretty things. Living in Cleveland, Spring can truly be ugly at first, so it’s best to find the color and pop where you can, when the gray still lingers. Hopefully, it doesn’t linger too long.

It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Rimmel’s products.  So when I was sent the new Moisture Renew Lipgloss to try out I was more than happy to give it a try. I tried Rose Cocoon, which is a soft and dusty pink, with JUST the right amount of sparkle and shine. The pigments are high, and the color is noticeable, without taking over my whole face.  I did go on a mini lipgloss revolt for a bit, one too many times of pulling my long hair out of goop on my lips really did it for me, but Rimmel’s Moisture Renew Lipgloss is for sure one of the products that threw me back on the gloss wagon.

Available in 14 shades, there is absolutely something for everyone and every skin tone. And at under 7 dollars a pop, it’s easy to pick up a few and not even blink.  I personally, have at least three glosses in my purse at all times, just in case. Excessive, I know. The great thing about Moisture Renew Lipgloss is that it is just enough color to wear with dramatic eyes or basic every day makeup. I often do dramatic eye for daytime, so this is a great product for me to easily reach for without worrying that I have TOO much going on makeup wise.

The lipgloss is SPF 15, filled with collagen and vitamins like A, C, and E. This combo, makes your lips super smooth and not heavy or sticky.  It goes on smooth, the brush is easy to use, and the tube is slender enough to slip into any evening clutch or school bag.

I love the Moisture Renew Lipsticks, so I am happy to say that the lipgloss really delivers too!

All Rimmel products can be found at major drugstores and retailers nationwide.

I haven’t blogged in AGES. I’ve been buried in life, and everytime I look at the clock, it’s hours later than I thought it was. The wedding has consumed so much time, energy, and money but I know it will be all worth it. We have not touched a SINGLE credit card for ANYTHING, and of THAT I am hugely proud.  But needless to say, after the party is over, and we are on OUR HONEYMOON, Mike and I will be happy to have our everyday lives back.  Since I have last posted, we had our AMAZING cocktail party style bridal shower, pictures to follow, I paid off two credit cards IN FULL which was a MOST amazing feeling, and I had a fantastic birthday party with my amazing friends and family. Again, pictures to follow. My birthday weekend was great and nice and busy and while it is strange to say that I am now 27, it doesn’t bother me.  Another jammed week is ahead of me now, I’m trying to make a point in any way possible to cram some creativity in my day. Picked up some Buckowski at the library last night, I have piles of fashion mags to work through, and the weather is breaking, at least this week, so the sun is out. All of those things should help. And also, just like that, here we are at March already. Wow.

Let’s make this week a great one shall we?

xx

**Went to Girl Talk at House of Blues last night and had a blast. I love shows like that, nobody cares about anyone else, everyone is just there to dance and have fun.

**I wish that instead of going to college I would have just become a DJ.

**This short week, has been very long.

**Since New Year’s I have yet to add salt to my food. I am a notorious premeal salter and I decided that it was time to stop the habit. Good thing I like pepper WAY more. : )

**Mike and I are finishing our registry tonight. Yay!

**I am looking forward to a low key, relaxing weekend.

**Cleaning out random stacks of paper on my desk at work is really quite interesting.

**I love book shopping after the holidays. SO many good sales.  Picked up a couple I’m really excited to read.

**Both of my classes for Spring semester are online. AMAZING.

**I’m really looking forward to gardening. And I know that is certainly a LONG ways away.

**The snowfall today is very pretty, its soft and the sky is a dimly lit gray.

**Any time you find a teacup at the thriftstore, complete with saucer, it is a successful trip.

**Why is it that when you write down one thing you know you need at the store, you INSTANTLY think of 10 other things you need? Has anyone actually ever went to the store and successfully left with ONLY ONE THING. I haven’t I don’t think….

Have a great end of the work week everyone!

I have at least 40 pairs of shoes littering the bottom of my closet floor. I think I wear mayyybbbe 5 of those. This clearly means, a serious shoe clean out time.  So while I am thinking of that, I am also of course thinking of what I want to ADD to a newly thinned shoe collection. I cannot stop thinking that my first fashion purchase of the new year should be a pair of SERIOUS black platform wedges.  Versatile, dressy or casual, and they will also be practical in the Cleveland winter.  I’m not talking Spice Girl platform, I’m talking sleek and sophisticated.  And of course, a shoe by my fave shoe designer is leading the charge for the one I want. The Jeffrey Campbell 99 in black suede. I mean seriously, it’s sleek. And please if this shoe interests you, but you’re tired of black, check out all the other styles. http://www.solestruck.com/jeffrey-campbell-99-black-suede/index.html#

And if you aren’t already familiar with www.solestruck.com, what are you waiting for??  I will for sure be buying these in the next couple weeks. And yes, I will force myself to be practical and buy the black ones not the leopard ones. : )

Wait? It is Thursday right? Holiday weeks always have me thrown off.

**I have another sinus infection. I had a horrible cold two weeks ago, and here I am again, a walking spokesmodel for Kleenex and Vicks. I am now currently sitting at my desk doing accupressure exercises on myself because I REALLY don’t want to be sick. Thanks www.accupressure.com!

**I am ready for a trip. I have the itch to get out of here for a weekend. Especially since I didn’t travel in December.

**I wouldn’t be shocked if my debit card caught on fire the next time I used it. NEED to stop spending money.

**Mike and I are getting married in 4 months. Wow.

**I have no idea where 2010 went and I hardly seem to know what happened in it, but I am for sure ready to see 2011.

**I have been lacking in the fashion inspiration department. Two of my favorite style bloggers, who I usually look to for inspiration have majorly shifted their tastes and I am not a fan of either.

**I need a new pair of heels. Some new music. And a few new authors to read. I’m not asking for much right?  :)

**I am the worst netflix customer ever. I have the unlimited plan and I swear I watch like 2 movies a month. I should really up my movie watching.

**A major closet clean out is for sure in order in the next few weeks. As is an office clean out as well. I have SO much to go through and donate and throw away.

**I really need to get my sleeve finished, I am long overdue.

**What’s a good color stay lipstick?

**I feel like I only wear the same accessories and the same shoes when I have SO many to choose from.

“Go to the winter woods: listen there, look, watch, and the “dead months” will give you a subtler secret than you have yet found in the forest.” -Fiona Macleold

Winter is a magical time.  A time where you can walk outside and breathe in the stillness.  It is silent.  I love stepping outside in the dark and pausing for a moment, just to listen. You can feel the cold blast of air hit your face and make you feel alive as you suck the chill into your lungs.  All of your creature comforts are tested by the elements, which makes you appreciate them so much more.
