**I accidentally lost 5 pounds. WHOO!

**Raspberry lemonade yogurt is amazing.

**If you need a quick, great read check out Stewart O’Dan’s “Last Night at the Lobster”. And if you have ever worked in the service industry, you’ll like it even better. Great book.

**My email is blowing up today. Good things coming!!

**I have a few papers due for both my classes in the next couple of weeks. I should probably get started on those huh?

**Browns game Sunday. Maybe they’ll ACTUALLY win.

**I am so excited for fall and so excited to decorate my house for Halloween.

**Mike and I need a good costume idea for my sister’s party on the 16th.

**Everyone I know is completely buried with obligations and places to be. I think it’s gotta be why the year has just FLOWN.

Hope everyone has a great week! xoxo

It’s been raining for a few days and it matches my mood. Not a bad mood at all, just contemplative and slow. My brain is firing away at 1000 miles a minute, as usual, but my pace isn’t quite matching it. Sometimes I’m a step ahead of the universe, lately, a step behind.  I’m not crabby, not overwhelmed, just rather indifferent. To a lot. Work. School. Art. Politics. I just really don’t have an interest in much lately. In other news, I have been waking up early and feeling good in the mornings, which is something I often struggle with. And even though I’m having trouble staying asleep lately, I’ve been feeling rather refreshed. Yet I still feel removed from a lot. And it’s self inflicted, but I’m not really sure why. Maybe my body is trying to protect me from throwing myself into too much so I don’t get run down and then get sick. Maybe I’m on track for a tireless burst of passion and inspiration. Or maybe I just need to be indifferent for awhile because the weariness I often pick up from other people can be so burdensome sometimes. Whatever the case, I don’t feel lazy or unmotivated which are two things I often struggle with. Perhaps the indifference is allowing me to spend a bit more time on me, for instance yesterday I wrote a short paper, a book review, and blogged all within an hour, and what Iwant/need to do. In any event, it’s nice to not feel like I’m pushing against an invisible wall that I threw up myself.

Hope everyone has a good one. xoxo

Long haired ladies, you know you get tangles. And you know they are a PAIN.  When I was kid I used to cry when my mom would brush my hair to get out the snarles. Or I would have to sleep in a braid so my hair wasn’t a huge knot in the morning. Well, at 26, I still get tangles and in the morning after showering, there is no way I’m getting a comb or a brush through my hair. My hair is thick and even when it’s wet, it’s not smooth. I will never be one of those women with super sleek, perfect and straight hair, I just won’t, and I’m fine with that. Anyways, my favorite detangers are not high-end. They are not designer. Instead, they are both very well-known brands and both are for kids. And with both at under $5.00, there’s no excuse for not trying them both to see which works best for you.

L’Oreal Kids Tangle Tamer in Sweet Pear was the first detangling spray I ever tried and it is my preferred product. The scent is light, the comb instantly moves through your hair after use, and there is no residue. Having sometimes oily hair, this is a huge selling point for me. The other detangling spray I’ve used is Suave Kids Detangling Spray in Double Dutch Apple. The price is a little lower than the L’Oreal detangling spray, yet it works in the exact same way. I will say however that I am not a big fan of the apple scent to this spray, but it doesn’t linger on your hair so the scent is not a reason not to give this product a try. So for any of you adults out there with long hair that tangles easily, pick up either of these two sprays to make your after shower hair care a breeze.  Oh, or um if you have kids, I totally endorse these for them as well. You know, seeing as how these are for kids and all… : )

**Mike and I are going to Niagara Falls tomorrow! Road trip!

**Going to the Browns home opener on Sunday. Chiefs look good, so I hope they make it an actual game.

**I feel run down today.

**I hope Mike or I win a little money gambling.

**Not really looking forward to sitting in class for 3 hours tonight. I have about 2383863 things I could be doing. *I know I bitch about school a LOT, but I do enjoy it and I know it will only benefit me that I went back.

**If I sit at a desk all day, where does all my makeup go and why does my hair look horrible by the end of the day?

** Aurora Farms Outlet was sweet. The Off Fifth Saks was AMAZING.

**My limoncello is ready!! Now I just need to buy bottles.

**I opened an ING Orange Savings account online and instantly panicked that I would need that money immediately. I am a psycho.  But I am trying to be better with my money and actually save it.

**It’s nice to have chill nights with friends you actually like seeing and talking to.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!!!

So I woke up early today and decided to dye my hair. I figured hell, it’s fall, I’ll tone down the blonde a bit and head more for the golden route.  So I slap the dye on and make some tea and feed the animals. I go to get in the shower, turn in look in the mirror and the dye is DARK BROWN on my head. Instant. Panic. *Side note: I dyed my hair dark brown once, it was horrible. It wasn’t me, I had friends walk right past me, and it faded to a horrible shade. It also took like 4 boxes of dye to get it back to Lauren blonde. Member that Kat?? lol. So needless to say, the thought of me with brown hair sends shivers down my spine.  So I get out and was afraid to take off the towel, got yelled at via text by Anita to JUST TAKE THE TOWEL OFF. So I did. And now my hair is a darkish goldenish blonde. It feels weird, I like it, but it’s weird.  I feel like it’s right for fall, but I for SURE need some time getting used to it. And the best part is, only one person at work noticed it. So I guess that’s a good thing. Well anyways, in tune with Fall 2010, here’s a few trends for Fall 2010 I’m digging . And no, I am not a fan of the military trend, so you won’t see any of that.

Thigh high boots. I am like 5 foot and some change, so I don’t think this is one trend I will be actually wearing. If I did, people would be like “hey where the hell is your leg?” or “do you have boots for legs?” you get the point. My legs do not go on for days. But if they did, I would certainly rock the thigh high boots.

Dusty Traveler Glam. Clearly not an actual term off the runways, but that’s what this look inspires in my opinion.A well worn leather bag, a camel coat with  fun scarf and some low boots. And poof, you just got off the train and are ready to embark on a new journey while your hair, is yes of course, perfectly out-of-place.  This look is great because it is so minimalistic and easy. It also works with virtually any color scheme.

Crazy messy hair. Low key, tangled, and messy. Braids, ribbons, feathers, etc. And multi colored.

Leopard print accessories. This is a trend I feel is always around, and one I always like. I particularly like it when it’s on accessories.

Side note. I am mildly in love with these shoes.

Belted trenches. So classic. And you can carry it into Spring too. It will always be in style.

What are you loving for Fall?

xoxo

So Summer’s almost over, and while that bothers me a little , mostly because it flew by and I feel like I did nothing, even though I did a ton, I am excited for Fall. However, the strange thing is, my fall is already shaping up to be more jammed then my summer seemed to be. Trust me I’m not complaining, one of the things I am VERY good at is exhausting myself (and yes I’m getting sick as usual) and constantly moving and doing. (I’m also good at sitting on my ass however lol).  I’m gonna say though when you look at your planner and you can’t even see any lines under your writing, you may realize a LOT is going on.  And then you may wonder, HOW THE HELL IS ALL OF THIS GONNA WORK.  And it does. Everytime.  The thing that gets me is that aren’t weekends supposed to be relaxing? Cuz they aren’t usually, and this one certainly is not for me. It’s filled with work, parties, reading for class, writing a quick paper, a shopping  trip to Aurora Farms with my sister, and Sunday football party to end it all. Apparently somewhere, I will sleep and have some beers. And as always, attempt to not have a mental breakdown.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Change of Pace “Weekend Warriors”

**I have only heard one song from Brandon Flowers solo album, but really liked it. Has anyone bought or listened to the whole thing?

**Pay day is tomorrow. Whooooo eeeeeee!!!

**I just looked at my planner for the next two weeks and got mildly frightened lol.

**Classes are going well so far, (it’s only week two), I like both of my teachers and really like the Irish lit class. The other one, a fiction class, I haven’t really liked the first book we’re reading.

**Back to school, means time to get sick. And I totally feel it coming on.

**I would LOVE to be at Fashion Week.

**I probably need to stop sleeping with the window open but I LOVE fall.

**This morning when I said bye to Mike I said “see you in 12 hours” which means I have a long day. And that totally sucks lol.

**I really need to consistently workout. I do awesome for a week, don’t for a day, then don’t for two weeks. I just get bored with it I think.

**I am happy to be going out of town next week, I really need a quick little escape.

**FOOTBALL SEASON. FOOTBALL SEASON. <3
