Beautiful Monday
I’ve always envied men and their get ready routine. Shower, run hand through hair, apply deodorant, spray cologne, go. What does that take, a whopping total of ten minutes? Even if you aren’t a woman who takes a long time to get ready, you KNOW that would be an admirable accomplishment to be out the door in under 15 minutes. A lot of time when I get ready, I see Mike, who is of course already ready, walk back and forth and look at me . His only thought has to be “what on earth is she doing now?”. I’m sure many of you know exactly what I am talking about. And while men may save money because all of their toiletries don’t run out at one time resulting in a $40 total at CVS, there isn’t nearly as many products for men to select from if they want to. I have guy friends who have been wearing the same cologne since 7th grade. Others who panicked when Old Spice added new variations to their once classic and only fragrance for deodorants. So when I was sent a sample of Express Honor, the new men’s cologne by Express for Mike to try, I was eager to pass it along to him to gather his thoughts on it and decide myself what I thought of it. And to get my first Beautiful Monday post that my male readers will actually enjoy.
New by Express, Honor is crisp, with just the right amount of musk. Someone wears it and walks past, you enjoy it, not choke on it. I’ve never been good at picking out particular elements that make up colognes and perfumes, I only know if something smells good. I told Mike about 5 times that he smelled good when I hugged him, each time he gently reminded me that I knew exactly what he was wearing. Honor is a thick scent, but not heavy, its scent lingers in a good way, light and airy, without being flowery, musky, or so stagnant it sits in your throat with just one sniff. Another great point to mention is that Honor maintains consistency, it doesn’t appear to fade away and it’s doesn’t become overpowering after wear. They say scent is the most powerful sense tied to memory and with Honor, only a pleasant association can be made. In addition to liking the scent and look of the bottle, Mike was also pleased when I told him the cost of Honor. $44.90 for 1.7 oz and $59.90 for 3.4oz. Not bad especially when a lot of colognes go for $70 easily. A huge bonus is being able to purchase a fragrance without having 45 different ones squirted in your face. So for men who are overwhelmed by department store salespeople, and rightfully so, simply walking into Express to pick up Honor may be just the thing to try.
